Parenting

Many non-custodial fathers find it hard to believe they are wanted and needed.

Our programs show fathers why they matter and how they can contribute as parents. For many young and low-income fathers, these are new ideas.

While each father’s story is different, many fathers share:

  • A history of little or no interaction with their own fathers
  • Poor role models for good parenting
  • A lack of experience and little confidence in their abilities to be good dads
  • Skepticism from the child’s mother about their commitment and capabilities
  • The sincere desire to be good fathers to their children

Through our fatherhood program curriculum, men build confidence and gain skills.

We focus on:

  • Parenting and Co-Parenting
  • Job Readiness and Employment
  • Economic Stability
  • Child Support and Visitation
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Personal Development

Our programs teach fathers about:

  • Child development and what children need at each stage of life
  • How to obtain visitation rights and plan successful visits with children
  • How to have positive interactions with children and mothers
  • The impact of fathers in children’s lives

After learning how fathers in our programs access information, we created Father 365, a smartphone-friendly online tool to help them with essential parenting skills.
